A Planning Application for a David Lloyd Tennis Centre (10600 sq m) had been refused by City of Edinburgh Council, on the grounds of Traffic Attraction. A successful argument was constructed, undertaking comparison surveys with other DLL sites throughut the UK. We showed that the likely trips would add approximately 0.8% to traffic levels on the A8 Gyle Road. We also showed that the proposed junction improvements would ensure adequate capacity and safety, notwithstanding the recently introduced "Greenways" Bus Lane Scheme.
