Project Description:

The services provided as part of this project included:

  • Organising a large scale Origin and Destination (O & D) survey, involving over fifty people, twenty five O & D checkpoints and twenty six Automatic Traffic Counters (ATC’s)
  • Analysis of data received from O & D checkpoints and ATC’s, along with before and after data, to see what impact the temporary Park Road one-way scheme and other traffic management measures in the area had made
  • Presentation to Councillors and Park Road Impact report produced for circulation to Councillors

Background

  • Historic problems with through traffic through the North Camp area ever since the A331 Blackwater Valley Route was opened
  • As a result of complaints from residents in the area, an initial investigation was undertaken by Rushmoor Borough Council
  • Investigation resulted in one of the worst affected roads, Park Road, being made one-way temporarily and other traffic management measures along surrounding roads
